My daughter has been taking Singulair for almost 2 years now. She's 71/2 years old now. It seems like she's very hard to wake in the mornings and complains that she's still sleepy despite 10 hours of sleep. Also she makes a very strange sound during the night like she's scratching her throat and complains of sore throat in the mornings. Has anyone else had this experience with Singulair? I want to take her off. Is it safe to stop this drug without weaning it?

Ligh headedness, mood swing, faster heart rate, feeling of lethargy. I rather keep the alergy than have it disappear, which it mostly did, but left behind a "me" that is not "me">

I just started taking singulair 2 weeks ago for my asthma.. i am 15. starting around a week after i started the medication.. it was the day after easter. I got up in the morning and had a very scary dizzy sensation, where i couldnt stand up straight.. and everything turned black.. and it was as if my hearing had faded. this happened again a few days after that. now it happened yesterday. and 5 times already today.. the doctor says i should go to the ER. but my mom thinks i should just try to not take it to see what happens. i get very dizzy when i get up from sitting or laying down...faded hearing. sensitivity to light, instant headache, naseau, sweaty, tired, and the 5th time it happened today i saw a flash of white light(kind of like a halo effect(type of migrane)) and then the blackness started. i dont know if im having petit mal seizures, lethargy, convulsions, or simple partial seizures, but i think its getting worse what ever is going on from this medicine.

My daughter had extreme nausea when she was on singulair, along with joint and body aches. She is no longer on singulair ,just advair and zantac and her peak flows have more than doubled. My daughter also at age 10 suffered for 3 months with stomach aches and eventually headaches. She missed over 80 days of school in the 5th grade. We had every test in the world ran, she intially was diagnosed with an ulcer and was put on ulcer medicine but kept on getting worse. After 6 months of this we finally gave up and took her to the Mayo clinic. She never had an ulcer, she had abdominal migranes, symptons include severe stomach pain, nausea and lethargy. She never really got any headaches until her teen years. She was put on a migrane medicine and was back to school in 3 days. She seem to always get the pains when she was overly tired or stressed out. She was on migrane medicine for a year and then taken off. She now manages with over the counter meds and tries to get more sleep. Apparently abdominal migranes are quite uncommon, but they do manifest in younger children and the main complaint is usually stomach isuues. Hope this helps.
