Loestrin 24 Fe and sleep

I have been on this pill for six months now and I'm starting to get bad heart palpitations. This has been happening since the beginning of this pack. My breasts are super sore and itchy (kinda like when youre pregnant). This has not happened in the last six months of taking this. I cannot reach an orgasm at all (since I started taking it) and my legs feel like "restless leg syndrome" when I lay down to sleep. I'm only 32 and will be very upset if this pill has given me heart problems. My heart feels like its pounding out of my chest.

Im 25 and i started taking the Loestrin after my surgery for Endometriosis in Oct. At first, didn't have too many problems, but it seems when I got closer to the bottom of the pack, I got sick and moody. Just though since I was about to start, adn after the surgery could be the after affects. Well, after reading everyones great information, I know now its from the pills. I never took any until all of this (endo). I took lybrel (which don't take that either, i bleed for two weeks) my husband and I live apart right now due to me finishing school, and you would think when I got to see him, I would be all over him... WRONG. now i know why. And lately, ive gained weight, (even though i started working back out) im crazy tired, i mean falling asleep at work and cant control it, and it doesn't seem to help if I get an energy drink. I get plenty of sleep. More then what I would be getting if I was up all night doing homework and was fine then. Just called my doctor and waiting for a call back. I talked to my husband, and since I have never really taken birth control now bec of the endo, we are going to ask if I can get off of it. Just havent had any good luck with birth control. Not worth the craziness. I really havent had the depression side of it, but again like others said, everyone is different, and Ive only been on it for 2 months. Ive tried the ring (horrible, kept falling out) and i have done the patch (which i loved until the news went around saying people were dieing from it, so i got off of it in 06, and haven't been on anything until now) so ill keep yall updated, good luck everyone on finding the right one, i think im going back to the old days, and say screw birth control....

I am so glad I came across with website. I thought I was going crazy. I started Loestrin 24 11 days ago with no side effects until 3 days ago. I then started experiencing anxiety attacks which I have never had before. Also the past 3 days I have been crying and totally stressed out for no apparent reason. I am so tired and just want to sleep all the time. I have had no tolerance with my children and I too wish I could just climb to the top of a mountain and stay there. I took my last pill yesterday and have just disposed of the rest. I am praying these symptoms resolve soon and I can go back to feeling normal. I am too scared to even try another bcp.

I've been on this pill for about 3 months and I have ALL of the same problems as everyone else. I am extremely tired all the time, Ive become depressed and all I want to do is lay in bed. Ive completely lost my sex drive and Ive gained about 15 pounds. I completely stopped working out which used to be a daily routine for me because I am so exosted and I sleep about 10 hours every night. I don't feel like doing anything and my skin is dry and scaly. I have pimples on my legs & back which i have never had before. and to top it all off i am anxious and extremely depressed. I am going off this pill now that I know what is causing everything, I have NEVER had any of these problems before taking this pill. Im going off BC completely.

I started the pill about 2 months ago..and wow do i regret it..when i first started it i had migraines that lasted for hours..i mean before i used to get them but it was when i was stressed out or something but they would go away..i barely ever got acne on my face and now i have huge red pimples that last for days on random places on my face..i have gotten my period like 3 times already and it sticks around for so long..lately i been feeling like everything in my life is wrong like no matter what i do it just gets worse..i don't even go out on the weekends anymore because im so tired..i sleep about 12 hours a night and im still tired..i go to the doctor and they tell me im fine that my immune system is fine and theirs nothing wrong with me..so i came to my conclusion that its the pill..its caused for me to be so moody that my relationship with my boyfriend has hit the worst..and now to top it off i started getting some weird rash type of marks on my body that tend to look like hickeys fading away..i got the last 4 pills to go and im done with them...i took them for 2 months and thats it im going to to try a different method..depression and anxiety and fatigue are not worth it..
so for most girls reading this blog think twice about it before taking this pill and if right off the bat you start struggling with these type of symptoms i recommend you stop taking them.

I have been on this pill for a little over a week. I started the pill exactly when I started my period and I am still having my period. Normally my period lasts 4 to 5 days MAX. But I'm getting nervous that it is day 9 and I am still bleeding. I have been extremely horrible headaches, back pain, and extreme fatigue. I was diagnosed with mono the other day but my symptoms also sound like what some people experience on this pill. I'm just not sure what's causing my horrible mood swings (I've cried myself to sleep every night for no reason...and I rarely cry over ANYTHING) and I've been very paranoid and bitchy towards my boyfriend. The first doctor I went to said I didn't have mono but I was diagnosed a couple days later by a different doctor. I'm starting to wonder which one is the correct diagnosis and whether my symptoms are actually from this pill. I don't want to completely throw it away yet because i'm not sure if it is actually the pill affecting me. But reading all these posts really scare me about it!
Most of my abdominal pains are around my pelvic area. I just don't understand why mono would target this area.

Oh my - I'm so glad, for once, that I googled something. I have just taken my 17th Loestrin pill and it will be my last. I could NOT understand why I felt the way I did. It started with nausea, progressed to acne and dry patches (in the same place!), then extreme fatigue, then I just couldn't do anything but sleep or mope around. Gradually I had an increasing feeling of extreme anxiety. I dreaded the future but I couldn't understand why. Then the depression kicked in on day 11 and I felt as though I was grieving very deeply... but for what? Nothing had happened! I began to think of my husband leaving me and how it would be for the best. And I felt like walking out on my children and climbing a mountain and just sitting there. I was like a zombie and passed over many social events because I just couldn't bear to talk to anyone. I began to look half dead and stopped taking care of myself. Eventually I had thoughts of quitting my job and was very close to making a phone call and saying some very final things to my bosses! Thank GOD I didn't - I stopped the pills first. THen I googled the brand name. Then I saw all these comments and may more on another site and it was such a huge relief. Now I just feel angry that my damn stooped bloody GP had no idea about how wildly varied people's experiences on this pill are - and therefore didn't warn me.

I HATE this pill!! I was so happy to find this forum. At least now I know I'm not losing my mind. I have been on it for four months and each month my symptoms are getting worse.I have had a headache for a month. My mood swings are out of control, I can't focus at work, exhausted, can't sleep, cramping, still have fairly heavy periods. That doesn't even cover everything. I will finish this pack and then I'm done with it. I've even talked to my doctor about how I'm feeling and she basically told me it's me not the pill. Looking for a new doctor now.

I was on Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo for not even a month before I had problems. bled, literally, 14 days straight before I stopped taking it. My OB-GYN prescribed Loestrin 24 Fe, and for the first few months it was okay. I am now on my last day of my 6 month on it and I cannot even handle it. My period comes twice a month, or so it seems with spotting. I do NOT get my period when I take the brown pills, as I supposed to. I feel moody, sick, tired yet I cannot sleep, I go to the bathroom several times a day, I throw up, feel short of breath, I get headaches, TERRIBLE stomach pains and I don't feel like going to work or school ever. It's hell. Maybe my body is not right for birth control, but I am DONE with this pill. It's been HELL.

I have been on Loestrin 24 for over a year now and I have to say that it is working really well for me. I have extremely light periods (esp. compared to the ones I was having before), predictable periods, and no mood swings. i have had breakthrough bleeding 2 of the months I've been on this pill. The only thing I've noticed is it is extremely hard for me to lose weight. Now, I only need to lose like 10 pounds, but I was running everyday and eating healthy for about 3 months and did not lose a pound of weight. I don't know if it was due to the pill, but in the past it has been fairly easy for me to lose,

I have posted earlier this summer my side effects with LoE 24. I began taking this bc pill in May 2007. I noticed that I was quite tired for the first few months but seemed to get past that. Several months after I began taking the pill I went into a depression. No one told me that it could possibly be the birth control. I was on anti-depressants for a while and finally was able to come off of them. This past summer I began to experience fatigue and was beginning to get very sad again and unable to sleep at night. These are symptoms of depression my family doctor told me. I decided to check this medicine out on the internet and came across this site. I'm amazed at the number of people who are suffering while on the medication. I asked my gyn. to give me another pill, which she did. I did not have a period with the LoE which was great, but the side effects I had were terrible. With the pill I'm on now I just have a light three-day period and have my energy and general feeling of well-being back. There are many choices out there. Don't get stuck with something that makes you miserable!

I have been on Loesterin 24 since Dec 2007 so far it has given me slight discoloration spots two under the breast, two on the shoulder blade and two on my arm, Mild to extreme moods swing, depression, nausea, headache, acne and speratic periods, ranging from a week before the period is suppose to start to two days after the period stops just to start all over again. Night mares and restless sleep patterns have been a usual.
I really do not recommend this birth control to any one but can’t stop taking it for fear of getting pregnant again.

Well, I just started the pill tonight, I read through a bunch of the comments, and I sort of wished I would have looked this pill up before actually choosing this one. {Right now I'm just hot, and a bit drowsy but I highly doubt that is from the pill since I just started a couple of hours ago} However, I am prepared (semi-prepared) to stick it out and see how my body takes to it. When I was 18, 19 i took the Depo shot because my doctor thought with college starting that it would be my best bet. I miss 1-2 days/mth for my serious menstrual problems; throwing up, migraines, severe cramps where I either faint or am unable to walk, and of course fevers, etc..If i was not drugged up I probably would just cry for days and days and not sleep. However I didn't like the Depo shot much, besides getting pregnant was not the issue since I wasn't sexually active anyway. A couple years later, after missing tons of classes/month because of my period, and even getting 2 incomplete 1 semester, I decided to try another pill, Im not sure the name but it caused my appetite to change, I am only 4'11,100lbs. I have a huge appetite but fast metabolism so losing weight is not an option for me. I am praying that everything works out with this pill because now at age 24, I am sexually active and not trying to have children for at least 2 or 3 years..and even more, I am switching jobs and can not afford to finish my masters and have a job that doesn't really mind me missing time so often. So if anyone else has any side effects please post so I know what else may be normal or abnormal. Thanks in advance (and sorry for the life story lol)

So i only just started taking this pill almost 2 weeks ago and i had never been on birth control before. I started taking it and was fine after about a couple days I found myself being very moody, bad head aches and easily depressed(which was driving my boyfriend crazy). Now lately all i wanna do is sleep and have no motivation for anything and worse of all anytime i am with my boyfriend there is bleeding during and ends shortly after every time and i don't know why it is doing that or if it is even normal. And i also thought this stuff was suppose to help you with your acne i never got it really bad but since i started i have been breaking out like crazy and i hate it. Also today i have been experiencing extreme cramps with not period but i only just ended it 2 weeks ago when i started this pack. these things are starting to worry me because i have no idea if they are normal and my doctor is of no help.

I have been on loestrin for 2 months now. For the past month I have been an emotional wreck, and for the passed week I have had anxiety, heartburn and stomach cramps just below my ribcage. My lower back is killing me and my stomach is spasming. I just took my last birth control pill this morning and start the reminder pills tomorrow. I totally don't feel myself. I haven't got my period since i've been on it. My doctor put me on it because I was bleeding abnormally heavy for me two weeks after my period. I really want to not start a new pack, but i'm nervous that i will bleed heavily again. the anxiety is causing me no to sleep.................I hate this pill

I am so incredibly nervous that I am pregnant. I recently lost a baby at 27 weeks and am not ready for another baby. I have been on Loestrin 24 Fe for six weeks. The first month I had a few side effects. The past week has been horrible. I have had cramps, spotting, discharge, and tender breasts. I took a pregnancy test a week ago and it came out negative. These symptoms started only three days after intercourse, so that is far too early to experience pregnancy symptoms, but I just don't want to worry about this. I am tired of not feeling well physically and emotionally and would like to sleep.

I have now finished my fourth month on Loestrin 24Fe. Still no period. Prior to being on it, I was on Seasonale--now, sure it's great not getting your period for 3 months, but that is another side effect page! Since switching to LoE24, for the first 2 months I had CRAZY mood swings and 6 out of the 8 signs of peri-menopause (I'm only 37). I did find out that Seasonale has a higher dosage of hormones and LoE 24 has less.

When I first switched, I LOVED the Loestrin--it made me feel so much more alive and like me again from the Seasonale. After two weeks, I started the "yogurt-like" discharge that went on for two months--no, not a yeast infection or anything, just weird hormonal stuff according to my doctor. After the two months, the discharge and the major mood swings went away all of a sudden, I was just fine one day and those symptoms have gone. Still, no period...it's been four months and 6 pregnancy tests. Now, I'm still a little moody but I'm not sure if it is pill related or frustration at not knowing what is wrong.

A girlfriend of mine loved this pill, so I guess everyone is different.

i'm 17 and this is my 2nd birth control that ive tried. its 5:35 in the morning ive been up since 2:00 because of this damn birth control. ive been on it for a month and a half, the first month was fine..i didn't get sick or feel any different and my period only lasted 3 days. but when i started it the 2nd month after my 1st period on it, it changed ...i had to get up every night at 3:00AM and throw up and i was dizzy all day......i wanted to see if it was really the birth control that was making me sick because i'm also taking other pills. so i didn't take my birth control one night to see if i would still get sick and i didn't, i sleep so good it was great ^_^. but i took it again tonight .....just to make sure and again i feel like crap .....i think i'm done ...i hate this birth control i'm not taking it anymore!!!! yay i feel better just thinking about not taking it anymore :]

I have been on loestrin 24 fe now for 6 months. it is the only birth control I have ever tried. For the first 2 months, I had a continual period. Once the bleeding stopped I noticed that I had UTI's weekly which have declined but I still have regular uti's. In the 4th month of taking the pill I started to notice the mood swings that have been with me since. Crying for absolutely no reason. The feeling of being unable to control my emotions. DEPRESSION! which I have never experienced in my life. Anxiety and wanting to be alone and yet sad because I am lonely....Inability to concentrate and reason with myself. Inability to be my normal positive self. Needless to say I am getting off this pill. I have already spoken with my doctor and received a new prescription today. All I can say is that if this is what birth control is like........ Forget it! I will try this one other pill, but if I still have symptoms like these, I am switching to condoms.

It’s me again….no happy, Yes I have not kill my self yet (jk) Last night I told my boyfriend to go home cuz I was feeling moody, so he did, I didn’t sleep well at all. Today I woke up and I really didn’t feel like going to work, but I did. Went to bed with a headache and woke up with one, my BF called me and we were talking just fine and within a few minutes a started crying for no reason, then I star it laughing cuz I didn’t know why I was crying. So I ‘m not taking the pill anymore after today, If I don’t stop it now I’m going to be miserable in my vacation and I’m going to make it miserable for everyone else too ( No fair). I will see my doctor after my Vacation and I think I’m going for the IUD. One of my co-workers told me that its normal to get this reaction cuz I’m putting something in my body to do something that no natural…..I know that... we all do, but hey can get preggo right now so I have no option. I WANT TO BE MY SELF AGAIN< I MISS MY SELF!

Ok today I don’t have a migraine but I had another one last night. My Boyfriend came to my house yesterday and I told him to be good to me and to please let me know if I got out of control, but in a good way, he was telling me that he can tell that my mood was different than in the past 3 month (PMS) and that he didn’t like it, but that he understood that it was cuz of the pill (he wants me to stop them, cant blame him, poor him he is so good to me) Last night it was bad for me I could not sleep at all, I woke up every hour with some kind of anxiety but no sure what it was, it was a restless night, one of my nipples is itching a lot(maybe something bit me) and this morning I’m cramping very bad ( never had this painful cramps before, just the normal before a period), and lower back pain and blurry vision. I have 5 more pills to go and I’m coming off it. I wont stop cuz Im going on Vacation to the beach on Friday and I don’t want to have my period, (but Im thinking about it) Today going up the stair in my work I got very dizzy and I feel some how pregnant but I think is all part of the stupid pill, My friends are all joking with me about been preggo but I don’t think I’m. Shit they forgot to tell us that’s how it work…. you can get pregnant cuz you don’t want to have sex any more, or your significant other wont touch you cuz they are piss off at you for your mood swings.

Well it is day 4 and all i have to report is some breast tenderness.. but I am a big girl up top so we will see. Also I have been having some bad lower back pain it is really bad after a good night sleep and upon waking in the morning. I have started to do stretching exercises to see it that will help. My appetite has seemed like it has decreased. But I usually have that happen when I get my period I actually don't crave. I have no horrible pinching like i usually have on my left side this time of month and not much bloating but I am drinking tons of water too. Very scared of weight gain...

I am on my 7th month of Loestrin and I'm about to call my doctor to switch me back to Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo. My side effects with Loestrin weren't that bad at first...but they've gotten increasingly worse. I've bought a pregnancy test for the last 3 months b/c my side effects from this pill mimic those of pregnancy--I get no period at all except for minimal spotting. My breasts feel constantly sore and swollen and I've gone up another cup size. I've been feeling unnaturally irritable, anxious, and depressive. I also cannot seem to get enough sleep. I feel mildly nauseous several times throughout the day, not too severe, but enough to make me uncomfortable. Every time I've taken a preg test, it's negative, but this pill makes me feel EXACTLY like being pregnant (and I've been pregnant before). This pill is not worth the stress/anxiety it's caused me.

I am on my first pack of Loestrin 24 Fe. I was doing okay except for constant breakthrough bleeding. This past weekend I was at a rehearsal dinner and wedding where I did a fair amount of drinking. On Monday I started feeling weird. By Monday night I was so weak and tired feeling that I couldn't lift my head. I've been laying on the couch for 24 hours and I still feel like the life has drained out of me. I"ve also had a stuffed nose and post-nasal drip since I started the pill. I went to the doctor this morning and they decided I needed iron pills to counteract the bleeding and an antihistamine and singlulair for the nasal symptoms. I'm now totally afraid of this pill!

OMG. I'm 25 and I have been on this pill for a lil over three weeks due to heavy bleeding from fibroids, and irregular periods. I hemorrhaged when I was 15 and had to have 2 blood transfusions. So my OB/GYN put me on Lo24 to stop my periods altogether. In this short amount of time that I have been on this medication I have experienced heavy bleeding w/ severe clotting since the second day of taking the pill from hell with extreme cramping comparable to that of a miscarriage :( and the mood swings are terrible I cry for absolutely no reason, am extremely sensitive and irritable most of the time, can’t sleep through the night, breast are swollen and sore, and have already gained about 15 pads in this short amount of time. I was going to try and stay on it for three months for my body to regulate it's self but after reading many of your post I am not sure what to do. PLEASE ADVISE. Sad to say I feel worse now than ever before

My doctor prescribed Loestrin 24 for me even though I have my tubal ligation because I have cyst in my ovaries and fibroid tumors. The birth control was suppose to elliminate the cyst. It did the first month I was on it. I had cyst tissue and bleeding throughout the entire first month. I have been bleeding everyday for two months now. I do take them everyday at the same time but that has not changed anything. I am always fatigue, cant get out of bed. Go to work and as soon as I get home I am in bed again. I feel very depressed and very moody. I cant sleep at night but I cant get out of bed either. I am always hungry and I just developed acne. As several of the other people state my doctor says its unusual and that the birth control has nothing to do with my depression or side effects. I have had so much blood work done and it always comes back normal. I think that the doctors want to see how long if ever the side effects will subside before they say just get off. But like other I was told it takes 3 months to get over the side effects but they have reassured me this pill does not cause depression. After reading all of the comments I am going to stop takng the birth control. Thank you

I am 24 and am in my second month of Loestrin 24 Fe. The first pack I started immediately after finishing my period and had another one for two weeks. I switched from my old to the new because I have about 30 cysts in my right breast and my doc thinks the difference in hormones will keep them from hurting. At the end of the first pack, I barely spotted for about two days. Although, I don't know if that's from the heavy bleeding for three weeks or that's how it's supposed to be. My breasts have gotten bigger, I can't sleep a full night, I cry for no reason but am extremely happy at other moments. I feel kind of manic/depressed on this. I'm concerned about the cysts because it doesn't seem to be helping much with those symptoms.

I am taking my 3rd pill for the first time and I already i have side effects. I have pimples on my face, my right side has sharp pain, can't sleep at nights and my mood changed. I'm going to stop and ladies if you don't have to take it, your health is more important. GOOD LUCK!

I was on Loestrin 24 for about two weeks and had to stop because of lack of sleep. I felt anxious, hungry, moody and bled constantly. I know you have to give these things time to regulate in your system. But honestly, who would put up with these symptoms for the recommended 90 days? My quality of life was instantly diminished. I started asking myself if this convenient form of birth control was worth it. My life at work and at home was suffering, so I finally asked my doctor to switch me to Yaz. It has been better so far (I've only been on it a week). The side effects I've been reading about for Yaz are scary too. I have noticed a change in my libido and sex isn't even fun...so why bother!

I've been on Loestrin 24 for about 2 months now and it is horrible! I had breakthrough bleeding within the first 4 days of starting the pill and that brown discharge lasted almost 2 weeks. My period came late and now this second month my period came early. I am having the worst cramps I've ever had in my entire life and I haven't been able to sleep for the past 2 nights. I will NOT be going back on this pill next month.

Anyone know if yeast infections are a side-effect? I've been on the pill for awhile now and never experienced yeast infections before this. I'm 24 yrs old, eat healthy, exercise, drink plenty of water. My lifestyle/environment has been constant, only change is being on the pills. Seems like I have an infection every 3-4 days. I am in a monogamous relationship, but I still get them whether or not I have sex. Any help is appreciated

My 20 yr. old daughter was on Loestrin 24 Fe for almost a year with seemingly few side effects (except larger breasts). When her Rx ran out, the doc would not prescribe more until she had an exam. She ended up going off the pill for a couple of months, which was okay because there was no boyfriend or sexual contact during that time. She then got a prescription refill and went back on it. Within about 3 weeks she started experiencing random panic attacks including, headaches, nausea, rapid heart beat, sweaty hands and dizziness. At first she wrote it off as stress, but now they are happening ALL the time and are interfering with her life. She is a college student and is becoming paralyzed by the anxiety and the fear of a panic attack. She can't go to class, can't drive and is worried all the time. This is soooo unlike my happy-go-lucky daughter. She feels like she is going crazy. I talked to the GYN and she thought that the pill could definitely be enhancing these symptoms, but didn't feel they were the main cause. I now have a completely different opinion from her since reading all the posts on here describing the exact same symptoms while on this pill. My daughter has now stopped taking them (it's been about a week) and the doctor said it could take a couple of cycles for the drug to be completely out of her system. I'm praying that these symptoms go away after the hormones are flushed out....anyone have any experience with the anxiety going away after going off the pill??????

I have been on Loestrin 24 for a month and a half and it is killing me. Originally, I started because I was literally bleeding for 2 months. A week after I took the pill, my bleeding altogether halted. I was so happy. Unfortunately, I just got off my first period of being on the pill and it lasted 11 days. My friend said that can be normal. Okay, I thought I would be able to manage through it. Nevertheless, I am having horrible mood swings to my family and boyfriend. I am not trying to put myself on a pedestal, but I am always easy going, very amiable, always smiling... this is a complete turn around. I go from being mad to the next minute crying. I'm so over-emotional and I am watching myself act this way and I can't do anything about it. It is sad and a horrible feeling. Also, I'm always exhausted and always wanting to sleep in. I take two naps a day and I'm 20 years old. It isn't right. The lower back pains are horrible as well. I have an appointment the 28th and getting back on Ortho Tri.

I'm 16 and I started Loestrin 24 almost 2 weeks ago and I've had my period for now 13 days. I'm always hungry, and I'm hella moody sometimes I'm really sad and at times I become defensive and angry. My bleeding is extremely heavy, bad cramps even worse than what I'm accustomed to, and I barely get sleep because my boobs hurt and I like to sleep on my stomach. The Pill is supposed to help me because I have terrible mood swings, and I've been hospitalized for my cramps. The only good thing about the pill so far is that I grew some boobs, yeah its pretty sweet. But my gyn told me that it's going to take about 3 months for it to kick in as for my period I've gotten used to it. I guess it serves its purpose as being a birth control because who's going to sex on their period?

I have been taken Loestrin 24 for 2 months. I notice that I just want to sleep. I am cold one min and sweating another. I have no appetite. I just don't know what to do

My birth control problems have been an ongoing problem. . I am a 26 year old nurse. I had been on birth control since about age 16.I was on Ortho tricyclen up until about two and a half years ago. I was noticing that I got nauseated each day around 5 pm when supposedly my hormone level dropped. I would eat and then I would feel better. Now that I think of it, I may have been just a little hypoglycemic. I told my GYN about this and he had me switch to the NuvaRing. I was on that for about 5-6 months when I started to have problems with it. When I had to put it back in after the week out, I would vomit for about 12 hours until my hormone level evened out. After deciding that I was not getting food poisoning each month, and it truly was the ring, I went back to my GYN. He then said that it was too much estrogen for me and prescribed Loestrin 24. I was on that for about 5 months when I started to notice problems. I felt extremely tired all the time. My breasts hurt like hell, and my mood was changing significantly. I was watching TV one night when all of the sudden it felt like someone was just murdered in front of me. I had no idea what was wrong. My husband told me he thought I was having a panic attack. I have never had any problems with anxiety or depression. This happened twice in one week. I had never had any problems with acne, and I looked like I had chicken pox on my back. I was also getting abnormal hair growth. I would cry, and not know why. I then decided that I needed to stop my pills. I called the GYN, and of course they were of no help to me. I then spent about 4-5 months off of BCP's all together. I would still get anxiety the week before my period and then after I started it would get better. I then saw a new GYN who decided it would be good for me to go on Seasonique. I was on that for 5 weeks and all of my symptoms came back. I now have been put on Zoloft to help with my panic attacks. I fight them on a daily basis, and they are more constant than ever before. I truly feel like my hormones are so fucked right now. I have all of these strange thoughts and feel half crazy. I have been to every specialist possible and they all agree that my hormones are out of whack. I am small anyway and have lost about 10 pounds. I only weigh about 98, which is also alarming to me. Okay, well how the hell do you fix all of this without going on another damb pill? I was fitted for a diaphragm and am using that for the time being. I am a smart enough person to know that something is not right. I am seeing a homeopathic specialist this week to try a new approach. I have been to a therapist, and have been tested for everything under the sun. Most frightening was the fact that I was almost put on a beta-blocker. I had a 24 holter monitor for my heart. My median heart rate was in the high 90's. I also had a heart rate that went from 51 to 145 bpm in my sleep. My normal heart rate is in the hig 60's to low 70's. Overall, the Zoloft is starting to help, but I am so angry. I really do feel like we are screwing up our natural chemistry by putting all of these females on hormones. In 20 years or so, we will truly see the effects of what hormone therapy has done to women. It is very scary. I just hope I can get myself evened out. I have been on Loestrin 24 for about 8 months. I decided to stop taking it because I could not sleep well, I was not getting a period at all, and I was gaining a lot of weight for no reason. I stopped the pills three weeks ago and still no period. It has been 3 moths since I have had any bleeding and I am scared I could be pregnant. I have taken 3 pregnancy tests and all are negative. I have no symptoms of early pregnancy (i.e. sore breasts, nausea, etc.) I have had cramps that feel like I will start my period, but they have been on and off for 2 weeks and still no period! Has this happened to anyone that has gone off of Loestrin 24? If you did stop taking the pill how long did it take for you to get a period?
