Thanks for all for this forum. I've had hissing/buzzing in my ears for a long time now. However, I've been taking Lisinopril for a long time. After reading these posts, I'm quite sure Lisinopril is the cause! Don't know what to do about it tho, because my BP rises when I quit Lisinopril. I've tried other "methods" w/no luck.

I am so thankful for this site. I thought maybe it was just me. For one, I am allergic to Sulfa. My doctor knows this, as does my pharmacy. Still, they give me Lisinopril with Hydrochlorothiazide which you should NOT take if you have a sulfa allergy. From day one, I started with anxiety, agitation, nausea and what felt like a racing heart - though my pulse was normal. Day three I called the doctor and they said this was normal as my body "adjusted" to the medication. It has been over two weeks and the same thing keeps happening. I tried taking the meds at night to hopefully sleep through the side effects but no - it just kept me awake. I put another call in today and have yet to receive a return call from my doctor. I hope the doctor calls me and NOT the front desk girl because I have a lot of questions and concerns. Other symptoms I have been experiencing since I started Lisinopril are sever muscle cramping last for over 24 hours, dizziness, heavy chest/racing heart beat, restlessness and less frequent urination. For a 37 yo female who has to "potty" constantly, even throughout the night, going once in an 8+ hour period is not normal! The worst side effect though is definitely the anger and agitation. I feel like I am going to burst out of my skin or die banging my head against the wall. Last night I tossed and turned for 2 hours in agitation. I thought I would surely have a heart attack from the stress. Oh yeah my BP has NOT dropped at all (tho it fluctuates on or off the meds) on the 20 mg dose. Go figure.

I am a 56 year old woman and my doctor started me on 10 mg Lisinopril in March. Within 24 hours of starting it I developed a very annoying cough. At my next doctors visit she told me my bp was not down enough and wanted to increase the dosage. When I asked her if the cough could be from the Lisinopril she gave me some samples of Benecar HCT. The only problem I had with that was muscle weakness and some palpitations that went away after a few days. When I got the prescription filled I found that my insurance didn't cover it and it was quite expensive so I called my doctor back and she wanted me to try the Lisinopril again at 20mg and see what happened. That very same night the cough came back with a vengeance, along with dizziness. I decided to try to tough it out but after ten days now the cough is so bad it's unbearable. It keeps me up at night and I cough till I gag and cry. On several occasions I have coughed until I vomited. I couldn't take it any more and stopped taking it two days ago. I called my doctor today and she told me to stop taking it and now we're going to try Norvasc.

I have been off Linsinopril since for over three weeks. Went off Wellbutrin at the same time - cold turkey. I know - bad idea. But guess what - I didn't have Any adverse reactions to going off these meds. As a matter of fact, I feel Much Better. Lisinopril caused the symptoms of depression. I don't need Wellbutrin when I'm not taking Lisinopril. I had to find this out myself, tho. Doctors don't seem to want to connect the dots. If the drug company didn't tell them this could happen, then who are we to know better?!

I was wondering if any of you are experiencing tingling in your hands and feet, which increases during sleep. I have been on this medication for two months and have just started noticing this sensation.

Just yesterday my Doctor gave me a persriction for Lisinopril, because my blood pressure was high while I was there (always high tho when I go to the doctor) She wanted me to start with HALF of a 10MG tablet to start with before bed. I did....and I had the worst night of my life. Pressure in my chest, pain in my chest and around my shoulder, fatigue, shortness of breath. I barely slept. I will NOT be taking this again!!!!!

I think the lisinopril is causing tingling sensations in my hands, and my feet seem to sweat tho not hot, but that also could be the torprol I take.

I don't have a problem with coughing or anything or sleep problems but I do have problems with drowsiness and dizziness latly.

cut the dosage of my torprol but the dizziness persists. so I am guessing the tiredness is either the lisinopril or torprol. I did notice once I started to take lisinopril I went to the bathroom alot at first, then it stopped, and I noticed a slight increase in salt cravings despite being on birth control pills which stablizing hormones. never had salt cravings before. but the salt cravings are not nearly as bad as the salt cravings I got taking rapimil, can't remember the exact name.

I am so pleased to find this site, tonite! I have tryed Lisinopril, 3x..just started 4 days ago and already feel awful.
Symptoms include; tightness in chest, cough (I can deal with that tho), anxiety, depression, tremors and lethargy! I must try something else. Told my doc., but he says unlikely side effects..I have been miserable..not to mention my husband and friends..they are none too happy with me right now either.
That is what brought me here..finally, some feedback and confirmation that I am not being difficult to treat, but do indeed have a problem with this horrible medication. I am not taking it tonite..will call my new doc in the morning. This may help some..but it is surely not for everyone. My bp is stabilized..low, actually...but not worth the misery to me! Thanx to all of you who care enough to share! God Bless!!!!!!!

Took 20MG for about three months. Shortness of breath, very weak and contantly winded, blood pressure goes down but heart rate has gone from normally about 70 to 80 to up to 140 or 150. Can hear heart pounding at night while trying to sleep. My doctor told me that this medicine did not have side effects other than the cough. No cough, heart might explode soon, tho. No more of this poison.
