Help has anyone felt better after taking desogen? My daughter is a star athlete and has been taking desegen for minor acne. She is constantly complaining of being dizzy, light headache, having no energy and just simply off.

I also am rare and love this form of birth control. It reduced my anxiety giving me a more stabilized feel, no depression, took away cramps and pms cravings and symptoms (which I had a spectrum of) all my acne is GONE, and I've gained maybe just a few pounds but all these benefits for me have been completely worth it. I have been very happy with it and will probably not go off of it until I want to have kids:) My sex drive has decreased only a little but it was high before so in a way it's kind of nice. I recommend this pil for anyone with an abundance of testosterone, like I had.

I have been taking Desogen for about 2 months now and I know there has got to be an easier way for my body to ajust to a pill. I am constantly hungry (even after I had just stuffed my face), tired, spotting, acne, bitchy, & I have constant headache's. I feel as if I am pregnant. But I know I am not. This is a horrible Pill and as of today I am no longer taking it. So I recomend if you are on it and are looking up on it end it as soon as possible.<3

I started my daughter on Apri in May of 2004 to help extreme period cramps & cysts building up and causing pain. During that time she developed severe headaches, gained 20-25 lbs weight, awful mood swings, depression. Hair loss, not much help with acne and also discoloration of skin. It is now August 2006 and she has been off for appx. 1 mo and it is an amazing difference. She said terrible food cravings that she was having for sweets have gotten way better - please think twice b/4 putting your kids on this - I am now looking at other healthier alternatives...

I have been on Desogen for 6 months now, and I love it. I'm on it because I normally have really bad cramps, but on this pill, they are like 10 times better. Also, every month I'm on Desogen, my period has been getting shorter, which is great. I haven't had any of the mood swings or acne that some people have mentioned. I was on Seasonale and Levlen before this, and I was like binge-eating while taking those. That has stopped with the Desogen. So, while it seems a lot of women here have had bad experiences, you never know, it might work for you like it did for me.

I started taking Apri (as a substitution for Desogen) 2 months ago and have started to have acne. I have never ever had skin problems before. Can anyone tell me if they've experienced the same problems and what they did to stop it? I'm going to my doctor in 2 weeks, should I ask her to switch me over to something else?

I have only been on Desogen for a couple months, but I have experienced bloating, weight gain, breast increasing in size, diarhea, not being able to sleep well, depression, crying bouts for no reason at all, acne. I am contacting my doctor to see if I can switch back to the OrthoCyclen that my HMO does not want to cover. I can't deal with the side effects of this product.

I have been on Desogen for 3 weeks. I now have acne, am very emotional, and have a low sex drive. After reading these comments I finally realized that it was the pill. My husband and I decided that I need to stop taking it ASAP!

I have been taking this pill for about 3 months now. I will be starting my 4th month in a couple of days. I am actually going to go talk to my doctor about some side effects I have been having. Right away I noticed vaginal dryness and acne. Not really more acne than before but they became those kind that are really painful and never go away. I also noticed that I have a really short temper...I mean REALLY short. Then to top it off, my sex drive is GONE! I started the pill about a month before I got married while I was still a virgin and I was fine on the honeymoon but now I never seem to be able to get in the mood. I always was able to get in the mood for any sort of sexual thing with my husband (well, boyfriend at the time) before. Now he is getting upset with me because I never want to have sex with him. The problem is, I do want to but my body won't let me! We tried some creams to increase my sex drive and they just ended up giving him a rash and they didn't really work. And I can't take any sort of pills because they will interfere with the pill. It is really starting to affect my NEW marriage. So long story short, I am going to talk to my doctor. I don't know if any other pill will have less effect or not. But I just might try something else cause this is getting really irritating.

I've been on this pill for 10 days now, and have been experiencing bad itchy hives for about half that time. Also, I have noticed some acne pop up, I had a headache the first 3 days of taking it, a couple of weird stabbing stomach pains and vomited the second day I took it. I was on a different pill before this one, but was told this one was best for ovarian cysts, which I have one....but I think I'm gonna switch back to my old pill!!

I am so upset after never having acne in my life my face is ruined ,I could cry I am stopping this pill immediately. Funny how Apri never affected me like this and I took it for a year. The spotting after my period is terrible it takes up to 7 days for the bleeding to completely stop what a NIGHTMARE !, Thank God I wasn't alone .

I have been taking this pill for 10 years now. For the past 3 months I have not had my period. I'm not pregnant. My doctor doesn't know why this is happening. Even before that, It would only be for 1 day, if that. My sex drive has always been low, and It is so hard to loose weight, and it gives me acne. I think it is about time for me to stop. When I do stop, I'll let you know what happens.

I got painful, cyst-like acne, breast tenderness, weird stabbing stomach cramps, headaches, and nausea--almost the same symptoms as pregnancy! It started making me paranoid that I was pregnant...
