Upon taking Ambien for sleep I tend to go into a deep sleep in a fairly short amount of time. The problem with this is I am like a maniac in the bed. I cannot sit still, I roll from side to side, up an down. My dog gets out of the bed for fear of his life and my friends look on in fear wondering if they should wake me up. This lasts about an hour or so and then I calm down and gointo a peacful...sleep. I just wonder what is struck up in body that makes me act this way...is my bp elevated...stress up....etc.

Works like a dream for me, as the ads say. HOWEVER, I only take it 1x or 2x/week when needed. If I take it a second night in a row, I find it's less effective, which makes it easier for me to stay off.
Must admit it's tempting to take it every night, "chase that high" so to speak, but I can see it won't work anyway.
What I love is how it gently eases me to sleep, and shuts off all those stress-related thoughts that keep me awake. I think that's the best part- it's like an OFF button.
Night goes by very quickly, though- seven hours feels like a minute. Sometimes diarrhea the next morning and grogginess. So far so good.
