Still a very interesting site, to bring you up to date. I did go to my sons next check up and the doctor did take him off Singulair and replaced with an emergency inhaler for when he is wheezing (which drove the ex livid), he has now been off about one month. With the flu/ cold going around he has been sick and coughing but with cold drops and cough medicine he can handle it. I did take him to the doctor last Wednesday since his temp went to 101.5, doctor said he was fine just the flu/ cold going around. Went to his soccer practise yesterday and observed him coughing up a storm, when I asked him if he was taking cough drops or cold medicine he replied no. Today is Tuesday and received a call from the ex saying she was taking him to the doctors because the school called and said he was wheezing. Called the school nurse and was told he was coughing but the ex had taken him to the doctors to check him out. Talked to the doctor and was told he had an asthma attack (which she was told this by the ex) and was sent for an ex-ray. Surprisingly the ex-ray came back and the doctor was surprised that it came back clear. But suggested that he should be back on a preventative 24/7. Even though he only needs it 4 times a year, and suggested Singulair again or an alternative. Finally got a hold of the ex at the pharmacy and was informed that he was getting his prescription filled and that Singulair was one of them. I am waiting for the doctor to call me back to see if this is true. May be being paranoid but why would you give a kid absolutely nothing if they were coughing? For those of you divorced out there this is what the other half has to deal with, Singulair was changing my son and granted only being off of it for a month you could see a change....more open...wanted to go out and play....wants to try new things, but the way it goes now the ex gets what she wants...under one stipulation. If anything happens to our son down the road...ADHD, nightmares, dark circles, complete closet case and heaven forbid wanting to harm him self, I will sue the crap out of my ex and malpractice for the doctor. A decision of this nature should be made between the two adults not one that is a control freak. By the way I did e-mail her this web site and I was told the only thing she saw were older individuals that singular affected.
