My doctor wants to give me Yasmin due to bad pms every month. I am already on meds for mood disorder but they don't seem to budge the monthly aggravation and agitation I suffer. I am 43 and do not need a BC pill as I had my tubes done a few years back but he feels this may be the answer for the pms. I had an oblation procedure done last year and only have a 3-4 day mild period anyway. Is anyone else in this situation? Should I take this pill ?

NO, if its just for moods, try a different med...this one almost sent me to the ward. After 4 days on the drug. It is bc with the MOST side effects that they DON'T tell you about.

I wouldn't take it if I were you and I'm not going to take it either. My GYN wanted me to take Yasmin for the same reasons; pms, mood swings and irregular periods. I had my suspicions because I had a doctor prescribe Reglan to me for slow moving bowel without warning me that it could cause severe depression and anxiety. My reaction to that was so severe, I was suicidal. It took me the three longest, darkest months of my life to overcome that. I was actually lucky I even did overcome that. I found many many other people on the internet that had the same reaction as me. This website has many of them and I've posted on here about it. After that experience, I know now to always check around with other people. I don't trust doctors anymore and I'm not taking chemicals anymore. I went to the gynecologist to see if he would do a hormone panel on me and if I was deficient in a hormone that was causing my severe pms and fatigue symptoms I wanted to get a bioidentical hormone replacement. But it figures, he wanted to give me Prozac and I said no so then he prescribed the Yasmin. I'm not taking ANYMORE chances and risk getting severe depression and anxiety again. I'd rather be pms!
