I took the recommended dose for the first month. I felt really good (except the dreams) Then I suddenly got very depressed, lost feeling in my tongue, could not sleep. I felt horrible and would just go to bed but never really slept like I was in La La land. I cut the dosage in half which helped alittle and eventually cut it to 1/2 pill a day.The headache started then. I quit smoking for 2 months. I felt so depressed I started having 2 cigs a day. I felt less depressed as it was at least something I could look forward to. It has been a month since I stopped taking the Chantix but I still have the nasty taste in my mouth and numb tongue. The stuff works but I don't know that it is worth the side effects. Pizer blames all the side effects on withdraw from the nicotine but I have heard too many horror stories!

I've been using Lisinopril for about a year and have experienced almost all of the side effects that everyone else has described. I have frequent severe sweating, headaches, sinus pressure, sore throat, tickling throat, annoying cough, frequent periods of when my face and solar plexus area feel very hot and/or flushed though my face looks normal, dizziness, weakness, fatigue, depression, no energy or motivation......etc, etc, and I did not have any of these problems before. Not sure what else to take. I've read side effects for all bp medications and none of them seem like anything I want to experience. Is there anything that people have found to work that has very little or no side effects? This stuff works but I'm so tired of feeling run down. I tried natural remedies, diet change, exercise, etc, before going on the Lisinopril but those did nothing to lower my pressure.

I was taking the Prednisone pack for a servere case of Poison Ivy. This stuff works EXCELLENT to kill of the posion. I was covered in it, from my face and eyes to my feet. Along side of clearing up the posion ivy, the side effects sucked. Felt very weak. Couldnt maintain an erection. I didnt have an appitiete and lost weight. After i was off the Prednisone, i broke out with acne on my face and back. I gained my appitite back but have been drinking alot more water. I feel like i have my strength back also.

I spent nearly 3 years on and off prednisone which were the absolute worst in my entire life. I know the drug saved my life, but the quality of my life was so miserable I didn't know how to cope.
I suffer from life threatening allergies, which were causing insane hives (internal and external), anaphlaxis and asthma. After spending three weekends in the emergency room and having to get benadryl/adrenaline shots while trying to get allergy tests my doctors determined the only way to treat this was with aggressive doses of prednisone.
The side effects were so severe at times that I was nearly incapable of functioning. The dosage went as high as 80mg. I would rarely go for more than 2 weeks without having to ramp up and down on the dosage.
I suffered from night sweats (this still persists), "moon" face, weight gain (I'm still trying to lose this), night terrors (this was the most horrible), memory loss (I'd forget my husband's name), panic attacks (unbelievably frightening) with disorientation, acne (not fun), horrendous mood swings and inexplicable bursts of energy (I became a crazed Bob Vila).
The long term effects are that it wreaked havoc on my stomach, I now take prevacid daily. The night sweats, terrors and panic attacks have lessened, but still persist.
During the time I was taking the medication I thought I was having a nervous breakdown and entered into therapy due to the mood swings. I was so depressed due to the medication that I was temporarily put on Ativan (not fun).
I know this stuff works, but it is a rough ride. I am grateful for it, but it's a steep price to pay.

Oh my god i'm so glad i found this site.. i have been on yasmine for almost a month and the only really annoying side effects i have noticed are a spotting like brown vaginal discharge, anxiety (i suddenly become nervouse and afraid of things that have never bothered me before) and fatigue. The brown discharge was worrying me the most. i thought it had something to do with the birth controll but i wasn't sure (and lack of health insurance keeps me from going to the gyn to find out) i figured i would just wait out the 3 months and hope it got better. Thank god i'm not the only one. Now i know how this stuff works, it makes you a moody, bloody unattractive-feeling mess. who could possibly have sex under such conditions? does anyone know if this stops?

Hello all Yasmin Survivors.
-- By saraheharrison | Reply | (1) replies | Private Message meI stopped taking Yasmin in July 2005 and three years on I am still re-building my life! I feel this pill and its side-effect stole some of my best years, I am 33.
My main side effects were extreme anxiety, agoraphobia, pounding heart, panic attacks, fear of doing anything (even going 10 minutes away from my own home). I was on it for 12 months and the side-effects started very gradually at about 5-6 months, I barely noticed them creeping up on me. It took me another 6 months of taking it to start to question whether Yasmin could be causing the extreme change in my personality. I think if I hadn't stopped I'd have had a major breakdown. I had lots of weird physical symptoms too including, bloating, passing urine all the time, leg cramps, dizziness, hair loss.
Anyway, all the extreme anxiety and stress caused by Yasmin left me with exhausted adrenal glands - which I'm now trying to re-build. Anyone feeling fatigue, nervousness, anxiety, inability to handle stress in the same way as you used to, PMS several months after stopping Yasmin should look into Adrenal Fatigue as a possible cause of their symptoms. It's hard to treat and can take a long time to recover - but there are lots of things you can do to help your body re-build. Visit ******(doctor Andrew W. website on Adrenal Fatigue) as a start to find out more about the condition and how to find out whether you are suffering from it.
It would be good to hear from more people re-building their lives after the impact of taking Yasmin on this site. Also, is anyone out there trying to put together a class action?
Sarah
