Hi, I am 46 and had the mirena removed 3 weeks ago due to many if not all the effects most of you have described. Once removed I began 'normal' bleeding. Ok I thought, normal period..... 3 weeks later still bleeding but now profusely, literally could not leave the house this weekend as I was flooded every 20 minutes. Losing clots which are scary, seeing stars! an emotional wreck. Feeling totally drained I saw my GP today who said having mirena removed can sometimes cause the womb to be scratched and so cause much bleeding. She has prescribed me utovlan to try to stop the heaviness. Bit worried about whether its all mirena related or am I in the stages of menopause? symptoms are very similar.

I have been on Welchol since April & have been experiencing several unexplained problems. I have been having "sweats" which I just chalked up to being menopause symptoms.........but now not so sure. I can't sleep & suffer from muscle pain as well as muscle spasms in my face. Is anyone else having any of these issues!

I was on Prozac for 6 years..during which my husband was dieing.
Four years before and 2 years after. He was on oxygen for 4 years during which I took care of him, kids, and worked full time. With in 3 days of first taking it I stopped crying. It did help me cope with everything. I didn't bring work home with me which was good as I am in a very stressful job.
The problem I found taking it was I had no emotions which I guess was a good thing at that time of my life. I was never happy, sad, never felt intense love, basically numb. I also was tired during day hours when I took it in the morning, so I took it before I went to bed.
Years after he passed I wanted to start a relationship but I had no interest in Sex. Which is not a good thing when getting into a relationship. I was told by my doctor that is included as a side effect for Prozac.
The doctor put me on Wellbutrin to see if that was any better, as I'm told you feel more like yourself. I do have emotions now, which after all those years of not having any, I had to learn how to deal with emotions.
When going off of Prozac I did notice a slight change in sexual desire. But anything helps.
I got married 2 years ago and now I'm dealing with the menopause symptoms. If its not one thing its another.

I just took a prometrium pill tonight for the first time in order to help with my sleep disorder and menopause symptoms. I had visited with an endocrinologist who had prescribed this medication to me along with Synthroid and Vivelle . An hour after taking prometrium I started experiencing severe shortness of breath along with heart palpitations to the point where I thought I was going to have a heart attack ! I am seriuosly thinking of discontinuing all these drugs and allowing nature to continue it's course......seems much safer and comfortable than modern day drugs !

Okay I know this may be cheating but I haven't had my first shot yet. I just really need some moral support from someone who understand how I feel. After reading your all's sideeffects I am now in tears and more scared than ever. I am a 27 year old wife and mother, I feel like I am alone here, and that I am too young to experience menopause symptoms. Feeling that way makes me feel like I am being childish. Could someone please e-mail me so that maybe we can chat and I could ask questions. I am so scared.

Hot flashes, hot flashes and did I mention Hot Flashes!!!They were the worst! I had my TAH-BSO three weeks ago today, and I have not yet experienced the hot flashes like I had on Lupon. I was on it for 6 months, had all the menopause symptoms... hot flashes/night sweats, insomnia, mood swings (I was evil at times), fatigue, vaginal dryness, no desire to have intercourse and I gained lots of weight (started weighing 110--ended weighing 125). After all this, it still didn't cure my endometriosis and as I mentioned, ended up having a TAH-BSO. Bottom line, I would NOT recommend Lupon to anyone!
