As a Doctor myself I think drugs are NEVER the answer except in EMERGENT issues in Heroic life saving... YOU however and all individuals are and should be MORE accountable for your own health and STOP DEMANDING the Drugs and look to LIFESTYLE changes in DIET and EXERCISE to achieve the GOALS so necessary for quality and quantity of life.... The tools are at your fingertips ... The almighty internet ... And your OWN imaginative mentation is your TRUE limitation... So TAKE control of yourself and BE accountable .... Sorry so blunt but MORE tough love and Educating people is whats needed.... NOT more drugs....

In August I started taking Topamax and every week i am to up the dosage now I am taking 50mg in the morning and and 50 mg at night because my headaches was so bad that I had to quit my job because I couldn't serve food and vomit at the same time. Now that my headaches have gone from everyday to about every other day I have noticed the indigestion. Because I had because sick so long the doctor suggested I had a reflux and it would correct itself.I started looking at all the medication I was on and the list from the pharmacy never indicated indigestion on as a side effect for Topamax. My appetite is non.Weight lost about 20 lbs but I could afford that and then some. I try not to use the upstairs of my home if no one is there because of the dizziness. And simple chores around the house go undone.I have bounce $130 in bank fees this month and can't figure out how and gave the finances over to my husband to keep up with and I am a math major in college this semester. This is how bad things have gotten some simple words i can't recall how to spell . I have to use the dictionary. It's bad.

well, i guess i am not alone. this is the second time i have been on it. i weighed the pros and cons and figured that the migraines were worse than the depression, mood swings, and the inability to compute simple math. well, i feel differently now, and i think i am going back off of it again. my sex drive is also gone, but i have had a problem with that and the depression for years, just not this bad. i feel i have yelled at my children way too much lately, cuz it is making me so crabby, and i don't think that it is worth it. after reading some of your posts, it has helped me make the decision to go off of topomax for good. i could deal with tingling, bad taste, and weight loss (the only good side effect), but not the other horrible effects.

My girlfriend completed her first two shots earlier this year with minor side effects (nausea, fatigue, nothing major.) Upon completing her third shot last month, she has been vomiting frequently and unexpectedly. She had major issues with insomnia, and she has been experiencing severe nosebleeds almost daily, in addition to constant nausea. Her last period came over two weeks later than expected. She has been extremely tired and had been diagnosed with mono, but after reading these side effects, it's exceedingly clear that these are all effects of the gardasil shot!
Gardasil is clearly an extremely dangerous treatment. There is minimal evidence that it works, and thousands of people have fallen severely ill to this "miracle drug". You do the math.
Don't force it upon yourself or your daughter, as gardasil is HARMFUL.

This site has put so much worry on my mind about Yasmin. I started researching Yasmin because I had my first spotting this weekend. It started on Saturday and now it's Wednesday night and it has not stopped. Why do I want to be on something that makes me spot..I use to be on Portia which I really liked. I never spotted....I got on Yasmin because my mom and sister think I am moody (which, three woman in one house...do the math?) I have been feeling so tired lately. I go to bed about 8:00 or 8:30 and get up around 5:30, but I am still tired. On the weekends I can sleep anywhere from 12 hours on. I come home from work and nap and then go right back to bed. I have started to get leg cramps, which I haven't had since I was a sophomore in high school (junior in college now.) I've had a few more head aches than normal. I've put on weight....nothing feels good on me, I feel like a balloon. I have been more "depressed"...it's something that runs in my family but when I was on portia I was really happy...now I feel like I just want to say something or bring people down to my level. I am seeing this guy who works out of town and it never bothered me that he did until I started on Yasmin. I have stomach pains sometimes. What really upsets me is I told my sister about this site and she doesn't believe me. She thinks ALL birth control will give you these side affects and she says that they are not suppose to happen, which in theory she is right...but she doesn't leave any room for anything like this. She thinks I am feeling this way because of something else....well before the pill I was different. I like my face being clear but I don't like everything else but yet she can make the decision about her meds. I'm blaming Yasmin because it's the only thing I am on! I am going to use my last three months but I am not taking it anymore....I cant be a full time college student and hold a job while taking something that could potentially ruin my life before I even start it.

Hi, I have written on this forum before. Our son (6) was on Singulair for over 3 years for Asthma. Over those years, his whole personality changed; it happened so slowly, however, that we assumed that those changes were "phases". We stopped Singulair 16 days ago, and we have seen big changes in our son. Thus, I want to summarize our side effects by describing the changes in my son:
Suddenly no more fears (nightly waking up scared to death, and fear of being alone in any room in the house during the day), sleeping through the night, less agitated and less aggressive, better listening skills (again!) and more interest in learning (this was a child that once loved science and did math at age 3. He lost interest in anything that had to do with learning). He draws happy faces again. He is also less nervous. He lets us hug him again, and tells us how much he loves us.
Some days are better, some days are worse. There are times he still tells me that he wants to "throw himself in the trash" and other negative things about himself and his life. We also still see obsessive compulsive behavior (a tic where he touches his head and then his legs from his feet up, driving me crazy), but it is slowly getting less severe. But overall the changes are very clear.
As for the Asthma: we still use Flovent once a day: so far we had no setbacks. Our doctor noted the side effects, but was rather surprised about them. Obviously, I will NOT EVER give my children Singulair again, no matter what the doctor will tell us.

I started YAZ about 6 months ago. At the begining I felt really great, I loved the shorter periods. YAZ did everything it had promised. However, I also started having strange anxiety, I didn't make the connection. So I went to the doctor and got on zoloft and xanax. Going to the store, out to dinner and even working brought on attacks. I would have to run to the bathroom.
I had diahreah all the sudden. I tried taking things to help and nothing worked. I couldnt go shopping because I spent most the time in the bathroom. Just yesterday at work I had a anxiety attack and had to come home. I started thinking I was going crazy, I was just about to call the doctor and up my zoloft. After reading this site and doing the math I realize it isnt me, its the YAZ. The problems started when I started the YAZ. I am going to stop the pill for a few months and see what happens. Thank you all for posting. I am glad I am not going crazy!

My 6 year old daughter is taking topamax. Since the time she been taking it she has forgotten who she was and everyone around her, she went for an excellent student to not be able to do simple things like reading writing and math. She does even seem like the same child. She is very emotional and I just want my little girl back.

I posted a few weeks ago and have since been back to see my doctor. I now need an ultrasound of my heart because my heart is still working under stress. Like I said before I can't say for sure that this side effect is due to the NuvaRing but my heart was fine until I started using it so you do the math.

My son has been on Singulair for over a year now, and I'm beginning to wonder if the medicine is what his problem is. He's in the third grade, and is struggling really bad in Math. He also has little tantrum fits, and doesn't seem to listen as I think he should. I'm having him tested for a learning disability, but I just wonder if it's the medicine? He was put on it for the Chroop, he seems to get it really easy, and I'm afraid to take him off for fear he might get the Chroop again. I don't really know what to do.

Oh my god, this drug is horrible, ive been taken it for three days for bronchitis, i woke up and couldn't tolerate any light, felt so confused i could barely do simple math, got a really bad "cold" burning sensation in my head ,eyes , arms. 24 hours later, which is now, im shaking uncrontrolably and hypervenalating, starting to think straighter though. I called the ER and they said stop it immidatly. this was the most horrible drug ive ever taken, i thought i had a serious brain problem till i found this site. I definantly wish i knew these effects were possible before i took this .
