I had a Kenalog shot about a month ago, due to having more phlegm than even the doctor could believe. My allergies are heinous. However, I felt no relief from the congestion or mucus from the shot. (He also put me on Nasacort, which I've noticed, in my week of use, has improved things slightly.)
Anyway, for about a month, I've been feeling exhausted. This remarkable fatigue has been plaguing me. I can't get out of bed, I fall asleep any time I sit still for too long. And I get plenty of sleep.
So here I am, on the internet, looking up causes, thinking I could have thyroid problems or cancer. Until my chiropractor mentioned that it might be the shot. So I researched it, and have seen that other people are having fatigue and sleeping problems, as well. Now I think I know the cause.
In conclusion, the shot rarely helps anyone and mostly only causes problems. I suggest moving to California for allergies.

I was put on Lisinopril (10 mg) back in August for my diabetes. My blood pressure is very normal without medication. About a month or so later I developed a urinary tract infection, something I have never had before, which was followed by severe, migraine-like headaches along with sinus pressure around my eyes. I also felt very anemic. My doctor(s) attributed the headaches to a degenerative disc in my neck. After five weeks of these daily headache bouts, I stopped the Lisinopril when my chiropractor insisted it was the blood pressure medication that was causing the headaches. The headaches subsided within a week.

I have been on this Budeprion XL for only 2 whole days and I have noticed very bad muscle soreness in my shoulders and swollen lymph nodes. I had never heard anything bad about the drug, but decided these side effects were worth looking up. I'm surprised this hasn't been addressed in the news or something. I have taken Wellbutrin in the past and I don't remember having the same side effects ever.

I have just bought a pack of Yasmin for birth control and heavy periods but haven't taken any yet, nor have i ever tried BC pills before. I suffer from severe migraines daily it ruins everything i do and my GP's have been completely useless they don't even ask me any symptoms about my headaches and refused to let me see a specialist. The only thing he did was tell me I need to go on painkillers indefinitely which does not appeal to me at all.
I am now wondering if i should take Yasmin or not after reading all these bad reviews especially concerning migraines. Has anyone with constant migraine found a way to help them? Please let me know as im desperate to know what it feels like to not have a migraine.

I started taking Lisinopril last March, and my monthly cycle went from a normal cycle to a debilitating three day pain fest.
The first month I had a uterine cramp like comparable to labor that lasts for three straight days. The second month I added a sharp pain in my stomach that compared to a severe food poisoning episode but the only symptom was the pain.
This continued through June, when I asked my physician to switch me to a different medication although he did not think the side effects I was describing was related to the Lisinopril. The next month the uterine cramp was less severe but I also was treating with Midol which may have been the reason.
Last month, at my six month check my blood pressure was still not where my doctor want to see it, so he put me back on Lisinopril and kept me on the Hydrochlorothiazide, now I am on two medications!
After reading this site, it occurs to me that my shoulder where I had surgery two years has also been acting up the last six months as well. I have been doing PT again after the pain increased and I asked my surgeon what to do. He made not connection to the medication I am taking as a possible source.
The only other thing is I have lost some weight, with relative easy (not usual for me). Which I had attributed to a change of eating pattern due to my new work schedule.
All things to consider now that I have read this website.
Thanks to all who share, this is the best way to understand that everyone does react differently and you have really pay attention to what is going on with your own body when you are taking any medication.

I am so happy I looked into and found this web site. I couldn't figure out what was going on with me! I turned 40 and thought this sucks, I'm falling apart. First I've gained 15 lbs AFTER I lost all my pregnancy weight. My scalp is so itchy and flakey (been to the dermatologist 2x about that). Pain in my lower back and down my leg (my chiropractor sees me every week for that). My back just below my neck won't stop itching. My sex drive....nope not for about 8 months since I had it inserted. My periods are crazy, heavy bleeding for a week, goes away then thick pink discharge for a week. I called my doctor this past Friday and have an appointment to have it removed next week. I sure hope I start feeling better. I never would have thought these problems were from the Mirena, my doctor never told me any of these side effects. We have to do our own research, I sure wish I had!!

Ok, so I go in tomorrow morning to have my Mirena removed. Can I just say...I have been looking through endless information and posts relating to each of them in one way or another...let me put my experience out there so others can use this information to their advantage.
I got pregnant 2 years ago..and it was not the time or the person for me, so I had an abortion. (I don't recommend it but Im sure there are other forums for that chapter of my life) I was on and off oral B/C and had all the horrible side effects you are warned about so stopped taking the pill and relied on my fabulous judgment and accessible Plan B pill to remedy my stupidity...unfortunately I convinced myself there was no way it could happen at that moment. So I fouled up BIG TIME...
Anyhow, after the abortion my public health nurse recommended the Mirena. Seemed like the answer...like we all thought. I was at my lowest body weight of my adult life. Lean and loving my body. Only less thing to worry about right. So, I got it inserted...I remember thinking that the nurse's comment of "You'll feel a little discomfort" as the largest understatement of my life. It hurt like a b*tch. I suddenly felt like I felt when I woke up from the abortion procedure.
I went about my life...working my daily job. 6 months after my insertion... One day while on the job I had a fall that involved my right hip. It hurt don't get me wrong...but I walked it off and in the next weeks the pain in my hip increased to the point that no amount of vicodin helped and I could barely walk.
I visited my chiropractor 2-3 times a week with some relief. But after a couple of months with no permanent fix I visited my general doctor. Who referred me to a bone and joint specialist. Week later I went in and they suggested that it sounded like a tear of the hip joint cartilage. So the next step was a MRI. At this point I had gained an easy 20 lbs...I am unable to go to the gym anymore because of the horrible pain that is deep in the crease of my leg...like deep to the pelvic bone...and aching into the hip joint...like I imagined sand or something sprinkled on the ball joint of my hip. Radiating pain clear down to my right knee along what I can only call my siatic (sp?) nerve. I was in tears every time a doctor told me they didn't know what was wrong with me...so when it sounded like he knew I teared up with joy. ---
RESULTS OF MRI....nothing wrong with my joint, no tears in tissue...nothing. What in the HELL!!!The bone doctor refers me to the ObGYN...
OBGyn treats me for a possible underlying infection....and sends me for an ultrasound...which reveals a large cyst...nothing to be alarmed about but the cyst "May be putting pressure on my uterus and the pain in the hip could be effected by it also" But cysts as we all know take care of themselves normally...so they tell me to finish the antibiotics and come back in 2 weeks....
2 weeks later..cysts are normal sized...and pain is still very apparent. I always had horrible cramping...so the ongoing cramping after the Mirena insert didn't alarm me. But the ongoing...like 95% of the time cramping was getting on my last nerve coupled with my hip pain, weight pain and countless other seemingly unrelated problems.
So, all this led me kinda to a turning point...with no health insurance I couldn't keep frequently DR.s that had no answers...or didn't ever once suggest that my MIRENA could be the problem. So, I googled...found all this information...and gave up with trying to treat mystery pains and made the appointment to get it removed...LORD HELP ME if this doesn't help me get my body back pain free and back into my 6's

Last week I started to have this pain in the chest. I thought they will go away but they didn't. I went to a chiropractor that said it is my back that couses all this pain, the tingling feet and arms, dizziness. But 2 days ago, my mom told me that on the news they showed a 22 years old girl from Croatia that died because of Yasmin. Today I looked online to see if i can find something about it. and I found this site. And i read more then half of the posts. I am taking Yasmin for 14 months. And everything that is in these posts i felt in on me. Except the weight. I am still the same at 120 pounds. but, the anxiety, the panic attack - my first ever, emotional problems - which i never had before - OMG - i don't want this anymore. I love life - i didn't get ther to have suicidal attempts. But it is bad. No libido - from a person who loved to have sex, painful intercourse, crying for no reason. etc. Tomorrow no more pills. that's it. My chest hurts so bad that i feel like crying.

38 Y/O male with severe back pain on the upper left side just between the shoulder blade and spine. I was taking lipitor over 2 years ago and experienced the same problem. I never figured it was the lipitor and took several trips to the dr and chiropractor. When my cholesterol dropped below 150 I stopped taking the 40mg of lipitor but never told my doctor. All pain in my back stopped. Back in June of this year he insisted I go back on the lipitor and less than 1 month later the pain returned. My entire summer was a waste. I couldn't sit for long periods of time and driving in the car was a nightmare with the throbbing back. Just this past Friday I was out shopping with a friend and ended up taking several aleve for my back, right then I had an epiphany and said that I was gonna stop taking the lipitor for 1 week and see if my back improved. That was Friday, its now Monday and the pain is only 1/2 what it was....I suspect by the coming Friday I will be pain free.

I have muscle pain, weakness, and chronic lower back pain. Started statin drug, Simvastatin, on 11/21/07. I take no other drugs. Within two weeks, I could not sit without severe lower back pain. Reported problem to family medical doctor on 1/11/08. M.D. sent me to physical therapy for 8 sessions. No relief from physical therapy so I requested an X-ray on 3/20/08. X-ray shows very mild degeneration at one lower vertebrae. M.D. sent me to an orthopaedics doctor who recommended continued physical therapy. Went to a Chiropractor instead. After six chiropractic sessions with little relief, I made an appointment with an Osteopathic doctor. My M.D. sent me to a rheumatologist who prescribed high dose naproxen for two weeks. The rheumatologist ordered and X-ray of my lower back area. The lower back X-ray produced no negatives. The rheumatologist's next step will be to order and MRI of my lower back area. The D.O. suspects statin induced myopathy and because of hyper reflexes he ordered an MRI of my brain and cervical spine. I am now recommended to a neurologist who specializes in the diagnosis of multiple sclerosis. Am I getting the run around? Only one doctor said I might have statin induced myopathy. The rest will not even mention the statin drug theory. I just pray for ache and pain relief. I have some improvement after four months off of the statin which I believe is quite a strong point that it was the statin drug and not some unknown condition. I don't think arthritis or MS conditions improve. All I know is that I had no health issues before taking the simvastatin. Good luck to everyone who has or is taking a statin drug. BEWARE!!!

I have been on Lisinopril for about 10 months. I have really not felt well the whole time and have developed some side effects that i have gotten use to and just lived with and couldn't figure out what was wrong with me. I had fatigue, problems concentrating, headaches, chest pain, blurred vision, body aches and overall didn't feel like doing anything. I also noticed a small rash on my stomach/chest when i would get out of the shower but figured it must have been soap or something. I even tried not using soap and it would still be there. Friends and family started telling me I never feel good etc. So about 3 weeks ago I got really sick with diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, chest pains etc. Kept thinking i had a virus or something. A few times i was so sick I layed on the floor wondering what is wrong with me. Finally got into my doctor today and he also said it was a virus. A few people said they thought i was my blood pressure pills including my chiropractor. The doctor ran a sleu of tests today and i should get the results tomorrow. I have also had itching all over my body and a vaginal infection so i thought that would not go away. From reading all of this I realize everything is a reaction to the medication and I did not take a dose tonight but 2 benadryl instead. I always noticed throughout this that i always felt better towards the evening of course because that was when my medication was due. I will not be taking anymore of this and I am not happy that so many people are being given this everyday without any knowledge. Thank goodness people are responding and telling their stories so we don't think we are going crazy and hopefully feel better and maybe save a life!

I had Mirena inserted one week ago and there was some minimal cramping directly after the insertion but I have had nothing ever since and I am hoping it remains that way. I am so sorry to hear of all the negative side effects that Mirena is causing some women but I am interested in hearing some of the more positive feedback.

Initially, numbness and tingling in extremities which subsided, but memory loss and loss for words is very uncomfortable, and my neurologist suggested caffeine every AM to compensate, which helps some, but not enough. Difficulty reaching orgasm has become very frustrating as a side effect, but is better than the horrible headaches every day. What a choice!!1

I have been on Lisinopril for many years, and always had a small cough.
This summer the cough and clearing of the throat became worse. I mentioned this to my chiropractor and he said my body has built up a resistance to this drug and greatly affecting my throat to the point where I may not be able to breathe. There have been many times, this summer, when I couldn't seem to get enough air, like I couldn't breathe deeply enough to fill my lungs. Then at times it would feel like a feather was in my throat and I would have a terrible coughing spell. I have sensed that my memory has been effected and I have had more periods of depression.
This is not the medicine for me.

Unbelievable... I took a Kenalog shot in March for spring allergies, and have had continuous bleeding ever since, went to my OBGYN, he said it would not have been the Kenalog shot that caused this.. and he scheduled me for a hysterectomy because we couldn't get the bleeding to stop... i'm still bleeding, however I have canceled the procedure. I'm sorry that so many people are suffering from this, and the Doctors keep telling us it isn't causing all these horrible side effects. I hope mine passes soon, cause all this bleeding is about to get me down... but I don't want to have a hysterectomy for just no reason........ GOOD LUCK TO US ALL!!!!

Since taking (November 2006) and quitting (Febuary 2008) Lipitor I have had a series of muscle/joint problems. This is an update and recap.
Summer 2007 I had left knee problems which surprised the physical therapists because it did not respond well to ultra sound, nor did the pain increase with mobility. I was surprised when I developed similar but lesser problems in my right knee. Autumn 2007 I was diagnosed with tennis elbow on the left arm. Late 2007 my left shoulder becomes a problem. Within days of quitting Lipitor in early 2008 I had extreme pain in my right thumb along the bone, then the middle of my hand then between my first and second fingers. Pain has also been across my wrist and up both sides of my right arm. I am wondering if I will be diagnosed with carpal tunnel - but surely this does not start with extreme pain along the bone in the right thumb!
I am feeling much better than when I was taking Lipitor, but wonder if I dodged the bullet.
he cortisone worked!). My left knee feels "normal" again, not perfect but nearly like it used to be. Within a couple of days of quitting I had severe pain in my right thumb along the bone, then in the middle of my right hand, then between the first and second fingers in my right hand. I currently have minor pain in my right wrist (this is new) on the pinkie side and minor pain in my left shoulder where the arm joins (this has been intermittent for a couple of months). I am feeling much better - but would not be at all surprised if pain appears in another part of my body before this is all history!

I had the Mirena put in in August of 2007. Since that time, I'm a moody, crabby, ANGRY, irritable person. I can't even stand to be around myself. I have a 14 month old son who I feel angry at for no reason. He wants to nurse and I get angry. WHY?!?! I'm not an angry person by any means. My sex drive is next to none. Since my son has been born, we have had sex 6 times. Yes, only 6. And I could care less at this point if we ever have sex again. I feel very nervous, worried...almost paranoid. I get weird, period like cramps, but haven't had a period since 2006 when I got pregnant! My back pain is horrible, and I recently started seeing a chiropractor because it was so bad. My hands get numb and I drop ink pens, spoons, etc. I'm making an appt today to have this removed!! I wish someone had told me the side effects before I got this put in. My doctor said it was safe while breastfeeding...ugh. Who knows what I'm putting into my son! This is poison.

I have been taking Topamax for about 6 months now. I have been on several different everyday medications for migraine prevention and Topamax has been the best one. I was first prescribed Relpax to help relieve the headaches. I eventually got to a point where I was getting migraines every day/every other day (insurance only covers 12 pills per 20 days). I was later switched to Imitrex - which is MUCH more effective (1 100mg tablet) but my insurance only covers 9 pills per 30 days (unbelievable).
Just wanted to give you guys some background on my situation. I have been through 2 MRIs and a CAT scan, visited a neurologist, done 2 sleep studies, spent 2 months on a breathing machine for possible sleep apnea causing migraines. My family doctor, my neurologist, everyone I saw was unable to determine the cause of my migraines.
THE GOOD NEWS is I was referred to an UPPER CERVICAL SPECIALIST by my old chiropractor. This may not sound believable but my headaches have decreased to about 2-3 per month since I've been treated by my new chiropractor. My old chiropractor was the type who did a complete adjustment on my spine/hips and cracked my neck both ways every time I visited. The upper cervical specialist focuses on C1-C2 vertebrae and uses calculated heat readings to determine where there is inflammation and there is no twisting/turning involved. Look up upper cervical chiropractic on google and see if these treatments will help with any of your headaches. It has helped my situation dramatically and I will continue seeing this specialist and probably come off of the topamax in the next few weeks.

I had been taking Yasmin monthly for 8 months with no problems. One week I had horrible leg cramping and pains in my calf. I thought it would go away but after going to the doctor and getting an ultrasound done on my leg, it turned out to be a DVT (deep vein thrombosis). I had to go to the emergency room and be admitted for 5 days. That is also where they told me that I had 3 blood clots (Pulmonary Embolisms) in my lung. I'm only 28, healthy, nonsmoker, P.E. teacher and was diagnosed with blood clots that are from Yasmin. I have no previous health problems and no family history of blood clots. I WOULD NOT TAKE ANY HORMONES IF YOU DON"T HAVE TO!!! Yes, for some people it may not be a possibility but at least don't take Yasmin. With blood clots you can not do anything strenuous, no relaxing massages, no visits to the chiropractor, no random medication like Ibuprofen without doctors approval, no alcoholic beverages since I was on blood thinners. I was moody and miserable when this happened since I had to immediately stop taking Yasmin and was in the hospital with blood clots. Thankfully the blood clots are gone but I'm still on blood thinners and have to be very careful for the rest of my life.

I had minor cramping when I first got the Mirena put in. But, it was much milder than when I get period cramps. I didn't have any trouble with it (unless you count extremely light periods as a bad thing) until I did air travel (cross country airplane flights). Now, keep in mind, I travel a fair amount by car & have had zero Mirena issues from sitting in a cramped position for hours in car travel. Flying on the airplane caused really weird lower back cramping that put my out of a lot of activities. It was quite definitely core muscles cramping severely, to the point of pulling my lower back vertebrae & tailbone slightly out of alignment. After 3 weeks of pain, I finally went to a chiropractor & got realigned. This has happened with 2 flights thus far out of 4 (it doesn't seem to happen on short 1 hour or less flights). I have NO idea why this happens. I normally have no issues when flying. The mirena is the only thing that's changed. I can only assume it's the combination of the position when in a plane seat for so long & the mirena. Maybe it's poking one of my fibroids in that position?
Mirena has had zero effect on my PMS. PMS is just as bad as without any BC. My acne is just as bad as it is w/o BC. I guess I need Retin A & Midol. LOL
Things to keep in mind when reading the above: I've never had a child. I've been pregnant once & miscarried. I'm in my early 30s. I'm a light smoker. I have uterine fibroids. I rarely drink. I have lupus. Some of these things may or may not have an effect on what happened to me. So, keep that all in mind.
Also, as with all of these experiences, keep in mind it's personal experiences & we're all unique individuals. I'm keeping my Mirena because this is the only big issue I've had & I don't travel a lot.

Just wanted to empathize with you regarding "asthma" and "advair". I developed adult on-set asthma @ 26 years old. I am turning 30 in a month and have finally experienced my asthma going into remission. I was on advair on and off for 3 years...and am finally free of it. I searched long and hard for answers in the last four years as I journeyed through massage school, colon therapy school and presently Acupuncture school. I adjusted my diet, stress levels, and thoughts. For me, it ultimately came down to affirmations to nullify the belief of asthma and EFT (emotional freedom technique). These alternative methods allowed me to re-align my mind with my lungs...and break up with asthma. Don't allow the conventional medical practice of prescribing medicine to destroy your immune system and subsequently your life. Seek out a holistic practitioner who practices energetic medicine such as an Acupuncturist, Naturopathic Doctor or Chiropractor. Advair is a crutch with sickening side effects! You can heal yourself...begin by taking a deep breath and telling yourself you no longer have asthma. After a few months of re-programming your thoughts....you will be breathing with ease. Would love to write more....but need to turn in! Good luck with your journey and let me know if I can be of any more support :-)

My 6 year old son has been on Singulair for 2 years and I have noticed a big change in his behavior but it all started with leg cramps and falling down alot..I told my dr about what was going on but she told me that it was nothing to worry about that it is growing pains..Before he started the on the singulair he was always a happy go lucky kid never had problems with him back talking or ever really getting angry. Now that I read all these reports these are the problems I have with him now:
My child has never offered to hit, kick or slap me but in the past year he has gotten more aggressive not only toward me but others as well..
He is fearful of people now thinking that they are being mean to him or picking him out to pick on or make fun of.
He has problems of headaches on a regular basis but just thought it was due to his sinus infections...
I have also noticed that my child has started hurting himself like punching even slapping himself in the face when he gets really angery or fustrated about things..
Sometimes he has problems with nightmares but not that much..
He also has problems with stomach pain as well...
My concern is taking my son off Singulair with his asthma being under control right now and he just recently had sinus surgery but I think it will be the best thing for him just because I want my sweet child back not the aggressive and abusive child he is now.... That is why first thing in the morning he will be taking him to his dr to find another medication to put him on and take him off the Singulair....

My doctor increased my Lipitor from 10 mg to 40 mg after my physical in January. My cholesterol was only 182 and my LDL was good. I am now being checked for rhabdomyolysis - a rare but serious complication from the muscle pain and weakness caused by the Lipitor. I never had these problems while taking 10 mg and I have no idea why he increased my dosage so much. I am miserable with neck, shoulder, and back pain and have been for a month. I thought I had hurt myself at the gym and have even been seeing a chiropractor for the pain. My urine is very dark, indicating possible kidney damage and I am so tired I can hardly make it through the day. My depression has worsened despite doubling the dose of my anti-depressant and I have no motivation to do anything. I am looking for an alternative to statin therapy, as I am a 38yo insulin-dependant diabetic and am at a higher risk for cardiovascular disease. Any suggestions out there on alternatives?

I am 14 and received one shot in November 2007. I was very, very ill with throwing up and severe abdominal pain, kidney issues, high blood pressure, a strange rash, headaches, low grade fever and a few other symptoms. i was in and out of the hospital for about 3 or 4 months until i saw a nutritionist in California named M. F. Him and his wife (a chiropractor) have helped me get pretty much back to normal. If need any advice or help you can email me at ****** or my mom at ******. Please contact me with any questions. This shot has been horrible on my health and overall life but i might be able to help.
